Assemble the marinade by combining 1 tbsp of olive oil, the garlic, cilantro, lime juice, and salt and pepper. Start with 1/4 tsp of salt and a pinch of pepper. Then adjust to your taste.
In a medium bowl, coat the shrimp in the marinade and set aside in the refrigerator for 10 minutes.
While you wait 10 minutes to cook your shrimp, put on your pajamas and pour yourself and glass of wine. (It is a part of the recipe, so you should really do it!)
In a skillet over medium-high heat, add the remaining 1 tbsp olive oil.
Once the oil is shimmering, add the bowl of marinated shrimp to the skillet. Try to get the shrimp in one layer in the pan.
Cook the shrimp on one side for one minute, the shrimp should be starting to look pink. Flip the shrimp and cook one minute more.
Serve with a squeeze of lime and top with some extra cilantro. Enjoy!!
