This really isn’t much of a recipe because all you have to do is slice your sweet potatoes (you don’t even have to remove the skin, if you don’t want!) and then flip them one time in the oven. It’s that easy. I make these for Presley because I personally hate sweet potatoes (don’t come for me!), but what puppy doesn’t love sweet potatoes? They are also super healthy for dogs and help with digestion. Jared actually likes to eat these too, so they are also human approved. To make yours a bit more exciting, you can spice yours up with a sprinkle of salt, or some cinnamon, honestly I even might eat them if they were sprinkled with some TJ’s Everything but the Bagel seasoning or some furikake. Go wild! Or eat them plain! Whatever you prefer.
Oven Dried Sweet Potatoes
Ingredients
- 3 medium sweet potatoes cleaned
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 200F.
- Slice the sweet potatoes 1/3 inch thick, using a sharp knife or mandoline. If you are using a sharp knife, cut the ends off of the top and bottom of the sweet potato to make it easier to slice.
- If you want to add some seasoning, go right ahead! I leave them plain, because I use them as a treat for Presley, but you could add cinnamon, barbecue seasoning, anything you like best for you to enjoy as a healthy snack!
- Place the sliced sweet potatoes on a parchment lined baking sheet and bake in oven for 3 hours.
- Flip the sweet potatoes over and bake 3 more hours.
- Remove from the oven and let them cool completely. Store in an air tight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks.
