In my second installment of “Everyone Needs an Air Fryer”, I present these crispy air fryer chicken thighs. They are so flavorful, have the crispiest skin, and moist and tender meat. They take less than 30 minutes to make and require less than 10 ingredients. They could not be easier and are so hands off!
First you will dry off the chicken thighs so they can get super crispy, then cover them in seasoning, and then air fry for 25 minutes, flipping once in the process. And that’s it! It’s so easy, it’s almost not even a recipe!
Crispy Air Fryer Chicken Thighs
These chicken thighs come together in your air fryer in under 30 minutes and create the cripiest skin with super moist and tender meat.
Servings: 4 chicken thighs
Equipment
- Air fryer
Ingredients
- 4 bone in, skin on chicken thighs room temperature
- 1 tbsp grapeseed or olive oil
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp lemon pepper
- 1 tsp dried dill
- Pinch cayenne or shichimi (Japanese spice) optional
Instructions
- Preheat your air fryer to 400F.
- Dry off the skin of the chicken – this will make sure it gets nice and crispy.
- Cover the skin in the oil and rub to make sure it is evenly coated.
- In a small bowl, combine the spices (salt, garlic powder, lemon pepper, dried dill, and optional cayenne).
- Sprinkle the seasoning evenly over the chicken thighs (both sides) and rub the seasoning into the skin so it sticks.
- Place the chicken in our air fryer, skin side up, trying not to have them overlap too much.
- Cook for 18 minutes and then flip the chicken thighs over and cook for another 8 minutes. The chicken is fully cooked when the juices run clear and the internal temperature is 165F.
Notes
The spices will make the chicken look very dark when you first flip them, but they are not burnt. They will be crispy and flavorful!
